The Role
As a Software Engineer at Hooker Hill Studios, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality web applications. You'll work closely with our design and product teams to bring concepts to life through clean, efficient code. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects and contribute to all aspects of the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain web applications using React, Next.js, and other modern web technologies
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
- Implement security and data protection measures
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in web development
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in web development
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
- Experience with React.js and Next.js
- Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools
- Experience with RESTful APIs and GraphQL
- Understanding of server-side rendering and its benefits
- Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with TypeScript
- Knowledge of testing frameworks like Jest
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with serverless architectures
- Understanding of accessibility standards and best practices
- Experience with CMS platforms like Contentful or Sanity
